Lassen Rural Bus Now Offering Free Reverse Service for at Risk Individuals 530-252-7433

Lassen Transit Service Agency - Special Delivery Service

With many of our “At-Risk Population” in our community self-isolating away from the public at home, it is becoming difficult for them to get the necessities and supplies they need during the pandemic. Starting April 3, 2020, the Lassen Transit System and Lassen Rural Bus will be offering free a Special Delivery Service to the “At-Risk Population” that includes senior citizens aged 60+, individuals with a pre-existing condition and anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).

They will be delivering to the Susanville area between 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM during the week and between 8:00 am to 2:30 PM on Saturdays. This service will be offered to other parts of our county during our Midday and PM routes. They will cover parts of West County: Westwood, Clear Creek and Hamilton Branch, South and East County: parts of Janesville, Milford, Doyle, Herlong, Leavitt Lake, Standish and Litchfield. Please refer to our Riders Guide to find out what times would work best for you or call our office at 530-252-RIDE (7433).

Their office hours are Monday through Friday at 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturdays.

The Lassen Rural Bus noted that at this moment, the stores that are offering online ordering in our area are:

 · Groceries: Walmart and Susanville Supermarket

 · Prescriptions: Rite Aid and Walgreens

 · If any other stores wish to offer this service and have us available to deliver, please call our office at 530-252-7433.

Campaign to Protect Health and Well-Being of Older Californians

“The most important way for older Californians to stay safe is to stay  at home,” said Governor Newsom. “No older Californian should be forced  to go outside to get groceries or their medication. It’s on all of us  across the state to check in on the older adults in our lives – our  friends, family and neighbors – to help them during this outbreak. Each  and every one of us must reach out in a safe way to make sure our older  neighbors have someone to talk to and have enough food to eat during  these difficult times.”

The Governor also announced the creation of a statewide hotline —  833-544-2374 — in coordination with the non-profit local 2-1-1 systems,  so that Californians have a one-stop shop to answer their questions and  get assistance during this crisis.

For example, the 2-1-1 system is able  to help older Californians access grocery and medication delivery while  staying at home.
